FILMMAKERS' ASSOCIATION MONTHLY SCREENING OF FILM SHORTS
BLACKFRAMES
FILMMAKERS' ASSOCIATION proudly presents its monthly showcase of
short films made by African American filmmakers other films will also
be considered. The short films may be shot on digital video or film
and must not exceed forty-five minutes.
There is
no deadline for submissions, as we will show shorts all year long.
However, early entries are strongly suggested. Submissions must be
standard VHS. Please label screening cassettes with your name, address
and phone number. Please enclose photography still and other press
materials, if you wish.
There is
TEN DOLLAR ($10) Entry Fee. THERE IS NO MONETARY COMPENSATION TO FILM
MAKER FOR THESE SCREENINGS.
All submissions
automatically grant Blackframes Filmmakers' Association to use entries
in our monthly public screening, which the filmmaker will be invited
to attend.
Due to the
amount of entries, only accepted works will be notified. Those selected
for screening will be notified prior to the screening.
- SUBMISSION
GUIDELINES, RULES & REGULATIONS
- Film submissions can
only be considered in standard VHS format.
- One official entry
form must accompany each individual submission.
- More than one entry
may be accepted. Each entry must include a showcase entry form.
- If you wish your film
returned please enclose a self-stamped addressed envelope.
- Please do not send
submissions in fiber-filled envelopes, as the dust damages tapes and
VCRs.
- Preview cassettes
must be labeled with the title, running-time and contact information.
- All film entries selected
grants BLACKFRAMES FILMMAKERS ASSOCIATION the rights to use footage
and/or titles and information from the film in our Monthly SHOWCASE
for promotional purposes.
